Send both providers the same brief
Describe your website software, monthly visits, product count, storage use, customer locations and busiest sales periods. Include the tasks you cannot perform internally. Ask whether the quote covers migration, backups, restores and application troubleshooting.
Check the small print that affects operations
- Record resource caps and what happens when you exceed them.
- Confirm backup frequency, retention and a restore procedure.
- Ask what managed means and which tasks remain yours.
- Compare renewal totals and the cancellation process.
- Before migration, keep an independent export and test checkout on the new host.
